Over 40 years ago, tired of using inefficient and poorly designed dredging equipment, Jim Harrand sat down in his workshop and engineered a centrifugal pump that would change the dredging industry forever. Mr. Harrand’s highly engineered concepts pioneered the gold and gemstone dredges that we see today.

Beginning with a small machine and pattern shop, and expanding worldwide to our 15,000 sq feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Europe, Precision engineering has created and maintained a 35-year tradition of handling the most rigorous demands of worldwide dredging.

Precision engineering utilizes the latest 3D modeling technology available to ensure that our design efforts are streamlined from concept through production. Precision’s engineering staff incorporates personnel with over 40 years experience in the field, along with bright, new staff from a variety of educational fields that contribute to our new and innovative designs that are easy to operate and maintain.

Precision designs and builds all key components of the dredging system – from pumps to nozzles, from pontoons to specialized diamond recovery systems. This concept of sole responsibility lies behind Precision’s reputation for reliable and durable dredges. As a result, many Precision dredges are still going strong after 25 years of steady service.
